3 New Officers To Join Bridgewater Police Department

The Bridgewater Township Council will also be introducing its municipal budget for 2023 at the Thursday night meeting.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — Three new police officers will be sworn in to serve on the Bridgewater Police Department during the Thursday night Council meeting.

The officers include Nicholas Bradshaw, Nick McLaren, and Joshua Sherman.

Officer Sherman comes to the Bridgewater Police Department as a fully sworn police officer. He previously worked for the Camden County Police Department for the past 1.5 years. He currently serves in the NJ Army National Guard and is experienced in Mixed Martial Arts with disciplines in Muay Thai, boxing, and Jiu-Jitsu.

Detective Bradshaw comes from the Passaic County Prosecutors Office, where he has worked for the past 2.5 years. He has experience working in Major Crimes, the Fugitive Unit, the Narcotics Task Force, and the Trial Unit. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Delaware, where he was on the Dean’s List.

Officer McLaren, comes from the Washington Township Police Department in Bergen County where he currently works as a Class 2 Police Officer. Previously, McLaren worked as a Class 1 Officer with the Palisades Interstate Parkway Police and the Stone Harbor Police. He has 3 years of police experience between these departments. He earned a Bachelor of Science in CJ from Rutgers University, where he was on the Dean’s List.

Additionally during the meeting, Chief John Mitzak will provide an update on the SHIELD Program, which was launched in February in an effort to build and strengthen the ties between the police department and the community. The Township Council will also be introducing its Municipal Budget for 2023.
