BRIDGEWATER, NJ — The Township's plan to improve roadways in Bridgewater continues to move forward as the Council approved six ordinances awarding construction contracts for the 2025 Road Repair Program.

At the Aug. 7 meeting, the Council awarded five of the contracts to Top Line Construction Corp. for a total of roughly $3 million. The sixth contract was awarded to ADG Contracting Corp. for just under $558,000.

This series of contracts includes the reconstruction of 31 roads, expected to be completed and paved by November.

"I am thrilled that we are continuing our years-long endeavor to repair the road infrastructure in this town. We’ve reconstructed nearly 300 roads in the past five years, and we plan to keep going until the town’s road infrastructure is where it needs to be. Unfortunately, it takes years of damage for us to repair years of neglect, but we’ve made tremendous progress and will keep working until we’ve achieved the success for our residents," said Mayor Matthew Moench.

The roads slated for reconstruction this year are:

Additionally, the Township has received roughly $1.8 million in grants from the New Jersey Department of Transportation to complete some of the road projects.

"As a member of the Finance Committee and a strident advocate of fiscal responsibility, I especially want to emphasize the projects on which we are receiving outside funding," said Councilman Michael Kirsh. "These grants are competitive, and it speaks to the competence of our staff and the provenance of our case that we are consistently awarded them. Our residents will benefit enormously and at minimal cost."

Construction on the vast majority of these projects is expected to start in the next few weeks and to be completed this calendar year.

The 2025 project is part of the Township's $40 million 5-year road improvement plan.

The Township just completed its fourth year of the five-year plan. During that time, they have improved just over 260 of the township’s roughly 600 roads, according to Township Engineer William Burr
