4-Alarm Fire Burns At 3-Story Somerville Building

The fire is located on the corner of W Main Street and South Bridge Street in Downtown Somerville on Tuesday.

SOMERVILLE, NJ — Firefighters from all over Somerset County are helping to extinguish a four-alarm fire at a three-story building in Somerville.

The fire, located on the corner of W Main Street and South Bridge Street in Downtown Somerville, was initially reported around 2 p.m. on Tuesday.

Firefighters are still at the scene as of 6:30 p.m.

"One ladder pipe in operation, still have fire showing from the C side, conditions improving," according to CJFireBuffs.

Many roads in the area remain closed for emergency apparatus.

"Please close your windows to avoid smoke exposure from a fire on E. Main Street," wrote Borough of Somerville, NJ - Government.
