4 Bridgewater Locals Who Appeared On 'Jeopardy!'
Alex Trebek is battling pancreatic cancer. Here are four Bridgewater locals who had a chance to compete with the iconic host.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — Alex Trebek announced Wednesday that he was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. Trebek has hosted Jeopardy! since 1984, reciting countless clues for trivia buffs.
In that time, four Bridgewater Township locals have appeared on Jeopardy!:
- Mike Leger, an air quality consultant from Bridgewater. Season 22 1-time champion: $30,801 + $2,000.
- Bart Thomas, a Senior Tournament winner from Bridgewater. 1994 Tournament of Champions quarterfinalist: $1,000. 1994 Senior Tournament champion: $25,000.
- James Ma, a securities analyst from Bridgewater. Season 27 player (2011-05-25).
- Terry O'Shea, a junior at Princeton University from Bridgewater. 2014 Tournament of Champions semifinalist: $10,000. 2014 College Championship winner: $100,000.

Trebek, 78, said on a video announcement that he plans to beat cancer and continue hosting.
"With the love and support of my family and friends, and with the help of your prayers also, I plan to beat the low survival rate statistics for this disease," Trebek said.

The iconic host ended the video on a lighter note. Trebek said he has to beat cancer because his contract runs for three more years.
