Voters may request a vote-by-mail (VBM) ballot for a single election, or to receive them for all elections until they request otherwise in writing.

"These voters will see their ballots in the mail in the coming days, and anyone who hasn’t yet requested a ballot can still do so on our website or by mail until Nov. 1, or in person at my office until Nov. 7," said Peter.

Voters who have requested a VBM ballot but have not received it by Friday, Oct. 7 or within two weeks of their request should call 908-231-7013 to request a replacement ballot. Replacement ballots may also be requested if a ballot is lost, damaged, or otherwise unusable. Additionally, voters who request a VBM ballot may not vote on a machine in person either during early voting or on Election Day.

How To Submit VBM Ballots

VBM voters may fill out and submit their ballots at any time until 8 p.m. on Nov. 8. Ballots may be submitted using the United States Postal Service (postmarked by Nov. 8), at any of 17 ballot drop box locations in Somerset County, or at the Somerset County Board of Elections office at 20 Grove Street in Somerville.

In-Person Voting

Voters who did not request to vote by mail may vote early in-person from Oct. 29 through Nov. 6, at any one of six polling places throughout the county, or in-person at their assigned polling place on Nov. 8. VBM ballots may not be dropped off at early voting or Election Day polling places.
