Sit back and cozy up in this one of a kind public seating experience in downtown Somerville.
SOMERVILLE, NJ — Five Winter Igloos, a one of a kind public seating experience, have opened on Division Street in Somerville. A sixth is planning on opening in January.
The Downtown Somerville Alliance launched the Winter Igloos this past Saturday and will keep them open for free to the public through Friday, March 13.
Each igloo features covered lounge seating, board/card games, light food and beverage service from Fresh Tiki Bar, and a heating component for a cozy ambiance.

"People love Division Street in the spring and summer months for its public seating," said Natalie Pineiro, Executive Director of the Downtown Somerville Alliance. "We want to bring that same energy to the winter months with our Winter Igloos, and give patrons of Somerville somewhere to enjoy the unique atmosphere that is characteristic of Downtown Somerville."
Private restaurants in various parts of New Jersey have used similar igloos but Downtown Somerville will be the first to use them as public seating, according to Pineiro.
