75 Years Of Volunteerism Celebrated By Green Knoll Fire Department
The free event includes a beer garden, dunk tank, hose spraying for the kids, food trucks, bounce house, music, and more.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — The Green Knoll Fire Department is celebrating 75 years of volunteerism to the community with a big, blow-out party on Saturday.
"This is the largest event we have ever had," said Sam Ballow, a member of the fire department.
The free event will be held on Aug. 20 from noon to 5 p.m. at the firehouse at 606 N Bridge St. in Bridgewater.

It will include a beer garden, dunk tank, hose spraying for the kids, food trucks, bounce house, music, and more. There will also be anniversary T-shirts and pint glasses for sale. All proceeds will benefit the Green Knoll Fire Department.
Fire trucks, rescue squads, and first responders are all invited to be judged for an awards ceremony. More than 10 companies have already signed up. Those trucks will be on display for the public to check out.

Food trucks slated to come out include Heaven's Cuisine, Taqueria La Mixteca Poblana, Kona Ice Truck, and Scream Truck. A percentage of sales from the food trucks will be donated to the fire department.
The public will be parking at the Bridgewater-Raritan Middle School and a bus will transport guests to and from the parking lot and the Firehouse. Handicapped parking will be located at the firehouse.
The Green Knoll Volunteer Fire Department responds to more than 600 calls a year providing fire protection to life and property in the Township of Bridgewater. The fire department operates seven pieces of apparatus:
- Station 1 houses Engine 34-1, Rescue 34, Tower 34, and our Tender 34
- Station 2 houses Engine 34-9, Utility 34, and the antique a 1928 Reo Speedwagon
