Bridgewater official confirms Agave Tex Mex restaurant has closed

Bridgewater, NJ -- It has been confirmed that Agave Tex Mex restaurant in Bridgewater has closed.
Chris Poulsen with the Bridgewater Health Department confirmed today that the restaurant closed a few weeks ago due to financial troubles.
“They made a run of it but they just didn’t do well,” Poulsen said.

Over the years, that location on Route 22 West has seen many eateries come and go with little success.
“I can rattle off at least a dozen off the top of my head,” Poulsen said.

Poulsen pointed to the position of the building being set back away from the highway and the zoning law requirement that restricts the size of the signage.
“Many people drive by and don’t even see it,” Poulsen said.
As of now, Agave’s owner is considering selling the property and the liquor license.
