Route 22 Reopens Following Downed Live Wires In Somerset County
Repairs to live power lines that toppled onto the highway on Monday will continue on RVCC Drive.

BRANCHBURG, NJ — All lanes on Route 22 in both directions have reopened as of 4:35 p.m. following a truck crash and downed live wires, said Branchburg Police LT. Edward Edgar.
RVCC Drive between Route 22 and Route 28 (Easton Turnpike) will remain closed for repairs by the power company, said Edgar to Patch.
A truck pulled down live wires onto the highway near the ShopRite in Branchburg as of 11:55 a.m. on Aug. 21.

There are believed to be no injuries at this time.
All lanes were closed as a precaution as the wires are live, said Edgar to Patch.

The lane closures were in the area of County Route 637/Readington Road in Branchburg Township, according to the New Jersey Department of Transportation's 511NJ website.
