All Lanes Closed On Route 202/206: Police Search For Missing Driver
A car hit a utility pole causing it to snap in half bringing down the power lines. The driver fled before Bridgewater Police arrived.
BRIDGEWATER, NJ — All lanes on Route 202/206 South near Route 22 remain closed as of 2:50 p.m. on Friday after an early-morning crash caused power lines to topple. The driver is still missing as well, said Bridgewater Police Lt. Kevin Lamey.
Just after 6 a.m., a Silver Ford Escort hit a utility pole causing it to snap in half and bringing down the attached power lines on Route 202/206 South near Commons Way, said Lamey.
The driver of the vehicle fled the scene before Bridgewater Police arrived, said Lamey.

PSE&G is working to fix the pole. The New Jersey Department of Transportation also helped with closing the roadway and diverting traffic.
Along with the Route 202/206 closure, the Route 22 West ramp to Route 202/206 south is also closed due to this crash.

At this point, it is unknown how long the roadway will be closed, said Lamey around 10:30 a.m.
The closure is also impacting surrounding roadways such as Route 22.
This crash is still being investigated by Officer Brian Eitner.
