Alpine Business Systems Celebrates Year of Success

Alpine Business Systems, Inc., a leading provider of computer support and information technology services to small and medium-sized businesses, celebrated a year of success with a tribute to the firm’s employees at a Virtual Holiday Party using Microsoft Teams Voice and Video.

To enhance the experience of the virtual gathering of staff, Alpine had a freshly made breakfast delivered to each employee prior to the morning meeting and invited presentations from Bryan Iwicki, Vice President of Operations for the Somerset Patriots and Diann Robinson, Executive Director of the Adult Day Center (ADC) of Somerset County.

Iwicki explained that the recently announced affiliation with the New York Yankees as the team’s Double AA franchise began last Memorial Day weekend with a visit to TD Bank Ballpark by Yankees General Manager Brian Cashman. The resulting agreement will necessitate improvements to the ballpark that will make it ”the most high-tech minor league ballpark in the nation,” according to Iwicki. The responsibility for these improvements will fall on the shoulders of Alpine staff who have been serving as the IT partner of the Patriots for over 20 years.

Robinson explained that the ADC was begun 44 years ago in the basement of a church in Bound Brook. Following 27 years in the PeopleCare Center for Nonprofits in Bridgewater, ADC moved into their own facility next to TD Bank Ballpark in Bridgewater. ADC serves as a day care center for vulnerable seniors, providing a needed break for family caregivers and a destination of interacting with peers.

In a year when the entire 22-person Alpine staff is working entirely virtually, Alpine defied the industry odds and exceeded all performance projections made prior to the COVID-19 pandemic. Alpine president Bill Blum used the 2020 Virtual Holiday Gathering of staff to highlight the reasons for success in an otherwise extremely challenging year for businesses of all kinds.

“Our staff set the standard not only for success during the pandemic, but for the future of the virtual workplace,” commented Blum. “Although we have decades of experience in the technology industry, we learned new ways to use technology to the benefit of our business and that of our clients.”

Among the reasons for success in 2020, Blum noted that the key factor has been the staff commitment to productivity while working exclusively from home. Staff members explained that the omission of commuting has allowed them to dedicate a greater amount of time to devote to both work and family.

Blum explained that rededication of resources has resulted in the company’s growth during the pandemic. With businesses of all types reevaluating how to operate with a virtual staff, information technology needs have increased dramatically. “As a whole, the Alpine staff is qualified to respond professionally to any I.T. need. As companies are forced to adapt to a 2020 workplace, Alpine has been prepared to provide the resources for implementation,” concluded Blum.
