Ameya Vaidya of Bridgewater Wins Congressional App Contest

Bridgewater Student Designed Tennis Performance Tracker

Congressman Leonard Lance (NJ-07) congratulates Ameya Vaidya of Bridgewater for being selected to represent the Seventh Congressional District in the U.S. House Student App Challenge. The contest invited high school students from across the Nation to create software applications, or apps, for mobile, tablet, or computer devices on a platform of their choice. Vaidya, 13, designed the Tennis Performance Tracker, which will tally sets and points for a tennis player.

Ameya demonstrated a superior design and created a very useful app. He is a very bright young person and I am very pleased this contest allows him to showcase his creativity and technical savvy,” said Lance.

“The Congressional App Challenge was a great experience for me and made me realize my potential as a future mobile App Developer. Winning this award has encouraged me to enhance my skills in this field and develop more applications that will benefit the people around me,” said Vaidya during the special presentation.

The competition is designed to engage student’s innovation and encourage their participation in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education fields. Ameya Vaidya is the son of Rajesh and Mamata Vaidya of Bridgewater.
