The purpose of the study is purely informational, aiming to identify any potential benefits of regionalization, according to Board member Steven Singer, who sits on the Finance, Facilities, and Transportation Committee.

Singer shared the information at the Feb. 24 Board of Education meeting.

Board Member Jeremy Li asked at the meeting who the neighboring district was.

However, Singer said, "They would like to keep it confidential as they're currently a send-receive relationship and don't want to risk jeopardizing that in any way."

The regionalization study is described as very basic in its scope. It will explore the possibilities and implications of such a partnership.

The district already is regionalized between Bridgewater Township and Raritan Borough.
