NORTH PLAINFIELD, NJ — Two people are hospitalized in critical condition following a crash into a concrete barrier on Route 22 in North Plainfield on Monday.
At around 3:15 a.m., North Plainfield Police Officers went to the intersection of Route 22 West at Somerset Street for a motor vehicle crash, said Somerset County Prosecutor John McDonald.
A vehicle driving south on Somerset Street towards Route 22 West reportedly crashed into the concrete barrier, said McDonald.
The driver of the vehicle, an adult woman from Franklin Township, along with the passenger, an adult man from North Plainfield, had suffered serious injuries from the crash.
Both the woman and the man were taken to local trauma hospitals and are listed in critical condition.
The Somerset County Collision Analysis Reconstruction Team and the North Plainfield Police Department Traffic Safety Bureau are investigating.
