MilkShake Factory To Host Grand Opening In Downtown Somerville With Deals

SOMERVILLE, NJ — A new dessert shop, Milkshake Factory, is set to host its grand opening in downtown Somerville later this summer.

The event will include a buy one, get one free offer on shakes, sundaes, and molten cups, along with free MilkShake Factory T-shirts for the first 100 guests and other giveaways.

A soft opening was held at the end of April.

The Somerville store is owned and operated by franchisee Manush Patel.

"I first heard about MilkShake Factory from friends who had experienced it in Pittsburgh, and the way they talked about it immediately caught my attention," said Patel. "They remembered the shakes, the chocolate, and the experience, and that told me there was something special about the brand. Once I learned more and saw the quality for myself, I knew it could be a great fit for Somerville."

MilkShake Factory said it was founded in 1914 as a soda fountain and chocolate shop. The company said it has since grown into a modern dessert business while keeping family recipes and a focus on quality.

The menu in Somerville will include milkshake flavors such as Chocolate Dipped Strawberry and Campfire S’mores, as well as handcrafted sundaes, molten chocolate cups, and housemade chocolate treats.

The company said its milkshakes are made with housemade ice cream and can be customized with mix-ins and toppings, while its chocolates are made using techniques passed down through generations.

"MilkShake Factory has such a great story, starting as a small sweet shop in Pittsburgh and growing into a brand people remember," said Patel. “That history made Main Street in Somerville feel like a natural fit. It is a lively downtown where people already come together, and we’re excited to give them a new place to stop for something sweet."

The Somerville opening will be the company’s third location in New Jersey.
