SOMERVILLE, NJ — Somerville High School was placed on lockdown after a caller reported a person with a gun near the building, but police later found there was no threat.
"There was never any threat at the school," said Somerville Police Capt. Anthony Brattole told Patch.
Brattole said the lockdown was ordered on Monday around 12:30 p.m. because "a caller reported a person with a gun near the school."
As officers responded, police found that the wrong location had been given to officers, according to Brattole.
"The caller reported a man with a gun in the area of East Main Street, which was later determined to be unfounded," said Brattole.
