Bridgewater Honors Citizens Police Academy Graduates After 8-Week Program (patch.com) — Bridgewater residents who completed the Police Department’s eight-week Citizens’ Police Academy were honored this week for their commitment to learning how local officers work. Graduates heard from Police Chief John Mitzak and Mayor Matthew Moench about building trust, transparency, and dialogue between the department and the community, with real-life examples like a SWAT call interrupting one class session.    

2. Brown Road Reopens After Emergency Road Work In Bridgewater (patch.com) — Drivers in Bridgewater should know that Brown Road, which was closed Thursday for emergency work and detoured to northbound traffic, has reopened as of 2 p.m. Police have not yet said what specific repairs were needed, but local travel through the area can now resume normally.

Bridgewater OKs Temporary Parking On Route 22 Site After Hotel Plans Fall Apart (patch.com) — Bridgewater officials have approved a six-month trial allowing the Mercedes-Benz dealership on Route 22 East to use the former Days Inn site for temporary vehicle parking, after long-discussed hotel and restaurant plans collapsed. Township leaders and residents debated the tradeoff between immediate use of the vacant Bridgewater property and the loss of potential hotel tax revenue, with officials stressing the permit cannot be extended without a full site plan review.
