Hosted by the Shimon and Sara Birnbaum JCC with township partners, the day also raises funds to support local community members in need while showcasing Bridgewater’s strong civic spirit.
2. Bridgewater Officer Receives Valor Award For Fiery Route 22 Rescue (patch.com) — Bridgewater residents are learning more about Officer Noah Allatt, who just received a valor award for rescuing an unconscious driver from a burning car after a Route 22 crash in town. The Bridgewater officer has now been honored locally and nationally, with officials praising his courage and commitment to the community he serves.
3. New Burrito Bar To Open 1st NJ Location In Bridgewater (patch.com) — Bridgewater residents can look forward to a new dining option as Barrio Burrito Bar prepares to open its first New Jersey location in Bridgewater Towne Center on Route 202, replacing the former Smoothie King. The Tex-Mex spot will feature made-to-order burritos, bowls, tacos, and other customizable dishes, with fresh ingredients prepared daily, though an exact opening date has not yet been announced.
4. Bridgewater-Raritan Names 2 Assistant Principals For High School, Middle School (patch.com) — Bridgewater-Raritan schools are adding two assistant principals for the 2026-27 year, with Dr. Matthew Mawn joining the high school and David Guglietti moving into a new leadership role at the middle school. Both will earn $140,000 and were introduced at a recent Board of Education meeting, where district leaders highlighted their experience, educational backgrounds, and commitment to serving Bridgewater students and families.
5. Bridgewater OKs Temporary Parking On Route 22 Site After Hotel Plans Fall Apart (patch.com) — Bridgewater Township Council has approved a six-month ordinance allowing temporary vehicle storage on the former Days Inn site along Route 22, now owned by the nearby Mercedes-Benz dealership. The move replaces long-stalled hotel and restaurant plans and lets officials test this use before any permanent redevelopment. Residents and council members also weighed in on the tradeoff between tax revenue hopes and current market realities.
