BRIDGEWATER, NJ — Somerset County Vocational and Technical High School hosted its Fourth Annual Career Fair on May 20, bringing more than 300 junior and senior students together with 49 companies, businesses, industry partners, and post-secondary education and training providers.

Students met with professionals from a wide range of fields, including manufacturing, construction, healthcare, automotive trades, public safety, engineering, welding, HVAC, cosmetology, and business.

Representatives from trade schools and apprenticeship programs also attended, offering information about continuing education and workforce training options available after graduation from SCVTHS.

According to the school, the event also gave participating professionals a chance to meet potential job candidates.

The career fair extended beyond student networking.

Business partners and educational representatives also met with SCVTHS teachers and staff to discuss current industry trends, workforce needs, educational pathways, and possible opportunities for future collaboration.

"The event was highly successful in connecting students with real-world career opportunities," said Gerald Mazzetta, Cooperative Education Coordinator. "Our students benefited tremendously from the opportunity to speak directly with professionals in their chosen industry and to also learn about continuing educational resources. The goal of the Career Fair was to begin building valuable professional connections, and we appreciate the support from all of the companies and organizations that participated."

The event reflects the school’s focus on linking classroom instruction with workforce preparation through its career and technical education offerings.

By bringing employers, training providers, and educators into the same space, SCVTHS created a setting where students could explore employment and education options tied to their fields of study.

For students preparing to graduate, the event offered a chance to gather information about both immediate job opportunities and longer-term training pathways.

For school staff and industry partners, it created time for conversations about how educational programs can align with workforce needs.
