BRANCHBURG, NJ — A new family-owned indoor golf business recently opened on Route 22 in Branchburg, with its owners saying they wanted to create a more approachable space for players of all skill levels.

Nicole Mamay said the business grew from a shared vision shaped by her husband’s interest in golf and her background in technology.

"We really just wanted to create something that felt modern, welcoming, and different from the traditional golf experience," she said.

Mamay said the idea was also influenced by her own experience with the game, which she found intimidating outside of a driving range setting.

"For me personally, golf always felt intimidating," Mamay said. "There’s pressure to keep pace and know the adequate etiquette, and so I realized many people probably feel the same way, especially beginners, women, or anyone who is trying the game for the first time, so that became a huge part of the vision behind Unbound Golf."

Unbound Golf has five bays, including four with an open layout and lounge-style seating, and one fully enclosed private bay designed for more focused play, larger groups, corporate events, or small parties.

She said the facility uses "top of the line technology that the pros use when they practice."

Customers can walk in or choose a membership, depending on how often they plan to use the facility. A founding membership is also being offered through the end of the month.

Unbound Golf is focused on simulator play and does not serve food or drinks, but customers may bring their own.

Mamay said each bay has a private TV, and the business plans to host events around major sports broadcasts.

She also said they hope to become involved in the community through leagues, tournaments, and kids' clinics.

"It feels amazing," Mamay said of opening the business. "I’m really proud of us that we made it this far, and it’s so exciting to see people come in and be excited about the space."

The grand opening is scheduled for June 20 from noon to 5 p.m.

The event will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony at noon, along with contests and prizes throughout the day.
