BRIDGEWATER, NJ — A motorcyclist was killed in a crash on Route 22 in Bridgewater on Saturday night.
On Saturday at 8:31 p.m., Bridgewater Police responded to Route 22 East in the area of Bridge Street, where they saw a motor vehicle crash involving a Nissan sedan and a Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
An initial investigation determined that the crash happened when the driver of the Nissan entered the motorcycle’s lane of travel, according to Somerset County Prosecutor John P. McDonald.
The driver of the Harley-Davidson motorcycle, a man from South River, was pronounced dead at the scene, said McDonald.
The driver and passenger of the Nissan sedan did not report any injuries.
Multiple lanes of the highway in the area of Buffalo Wild Wings were closed as a result.
Members of the Somerset County Collision Analysis Reconstruction Team, along with members of the Bridgewater Police Department Traffic Safety Unit, are investigating.
