BRIDGEWATER, NJ — Mayor Matthew Moench’s message in the July bulletin reflected on Bridgewater Township's history as the nation observes its 250th anniversary.

Moench said the township has spent recent weeks sharing its "Bridgewater 250" series on social media, highlighting moments, places and people from the community's past, including the Middlebrook Encampment, the Hopkinson Flag, and local farms, neighborhoods, businesses and civic traditions.

"Bridgewater's history has always been part of America's story," Moench said.

The mayor said that spirit continues today through residents such as volunteers planting trees, first responders answering calls, families attending community events and local businesses opening their doors.

"The history we celebrate did not simply happen—it was built by neighbors who cared enough to leave our community a little better than they found it," Moench said.

Looking ahead, Moench said he hopes the township will continue to preserve what makes Bridgewater special while embracing future opportunities.

"Our greatest legacy will not be measured only by the roads we pave or the buildings we construct, but by the strength of the community we leave for those who come after us," Moench said.

"Thank you for helping write the next chapter in the story of Bridgewater Township," he said.
