6 Candidates Running For Bridgewater-Raritan School Board For 2026

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — Six candidates have filed to run for Bridgewater-Raritan's Board of Education in 2026, with two spots on the governing body at stake.

Monday afternoon marked the deadline for hopefuls to file petitions for candidacy in New Jersey's school board elections, which will be held Nov. 3.

Incumbents Rebecca Hassouna and Barry Walker are running for re-election to the board.

The candidate field includes four challengers: Eugene Tawlah, James Lutz, Inderpreet Banga, and Edward Cohen.

School board elections are nonpartisan. But candidates can choose a slogan to appear with their name on the ballot.

Here are the candidates who filed to run for Bridgewater-Raritan Township's Board of Education. Ballot slogans are included if available.
