READINGTON, NJ — Two drivers were injured, and a car caught fire following a crash on Route 202 in Readington on Tuesday night.
At around 6:15 p.m., Readington Township Police, Whitehouse Rescue Squad, and Three Bridges Fire Department went to a crash on Route 202 near Summer Road.
Police found a Volvo XC90 and a Mercedes-Benz C240, with the Mercedes on fire, said Readington Police.
Everyone had gotten out of the vehicles before police arrived.
Police began extinguishing the fire before firefighters arrived and took over.
Both drivers had minor injuries. One driver was taken to a local hospital for further evaluation.
The highway was temporarily closed.
The crash remains under investigation by the Readington Township Police. Anyone with information is asked to contact Officer Ryan Donovan at 908-534-4031.
