Firefighters Battle Early Morning Lawnmower Fire In Raritan

RARITAN, NJ — Volunteer firefighters battled an early morning fire in Raritan on Tuesday.

At 3 a.m., Raritan Borough Fire Department and Raritan Police were called to an active fire at a multi-use contractor lot on Tillman Street, said Raritan Police Lt. Everett Holt.

"We ended up finding an open landscape trailer with four lawnmowers on fire," said Raritan Fire Chief Brian Kredatus to Patch.

Raritan and Somerville Fire Departments were able to get the fire knocked down,"pretty quick," said Kredatus.

The cause is still under investigation. There were no reported injuries.
