Bridgewater Commons Canstruction Will Turn 10,000 Cans Into Art For Somerset County Families (patch.com) β Bridgewater Commons is gearing up for a Canstruction competition that will transform 10,000 donated cans into eye-catching sculptures right in Center Court, then send all the food to Somerset County families in need. Bridgewater-based Messer and other local firms will build the displays, while visitors can view and vote on their favorites before they're dismantled and donated to the Food Bank Network of Somerset County.

2. Fall Festival To Benefit Bridgewater's Green Knoll Fire Department (patch.com) β Bridgewater residents are invited to a Fall Festival supporting the Green Knoll Fire Department, with food, vendors, raffles and family activities at the Somerset Corporate Boulevard and Commons Way ballfields. With low-cost admission and proceeds going directly to the fire company, organizers are also seeking sponsors, vendors and raffle basket donations to boost support for this local volunteer department.

3. 'Running For Recovery' 5K To Raise Awareness At Duke Island Park (patch.com) β Bridgewater residents are invited to join the Running for Recovery 5K at Duke Island Park on Sept. 12, supporting awareness of substance use disorder and local recovery resources. The event features a timed run and walk, kids dash, public safety demonstrations, and information tables from treatment and prevention organizations, all coordinated through Somerset County's Operation Helping Hand initiative.

4. Somerset County 4-H Center To Host Medieval Jubilee Fundraiser (patch.com) β Bridgewater will host Somerset County 4-H's second annual Medieval Jubilee fundraiser on Sunday, Oct. 25, at the Ted Blum 4-H Center on Milltown Road. Families can enjoy medieval-themed games, demonstrations, food, artisans, and costumes, while vendors and artists are invited to apply by Sept. 12 to sell medieval-inspired goods.

5. BRHS Graduate Lacross Player Honored for Service to Others (tapinto.net) β A standout Bridgewater-Raritan High School goalie is being honored not just for his All-America play, but for turning every save into a fundraiser for a New Jersey grief-support nonprofit. Recent graduate Reid Feinstein earned USA Lacrosse's Bob Scott Award, wore BRHS's revered No. 8 jersey, and helped continue a Bridgewater-born tradition of using lacrosse to support families coping with loss.
