Today's riddle: Why are elevator jokes so good ? 🤔 (Answer below!)
• Avnos' largest hybrid direct-air capture deployment enters operations (biobased-diesel.com) — A new clean-technology facility called Project Brighton is now operating on Milltown Road in Bridgewater, capturing atmospheric CO2 while producing hundreds of thousands of gallons of clean water each year. Run by Avnos, the site expands the company's research and development campus and has drawn praise from Somerset County business leaders. The project positions Bridgewater as a hub for emerging climate and water technologies.
• Public Confronts Somerset County Library Board, Questions Storyline Behind Abrupt Closure of Somerville Library July 31 Blamed on Existence of Mold (tapinto.net) — Somerville residents packed a tense Somerset County Library Commission meeting at the Bridgewater Library, challenging the director's decision to abruptly close the Somerville branch over alleged mold concerns. Speakers presented internal emails and independent test results they say undercut the health-risk justification, while officials defended the shutdown as necessary. For now, Somerville patrons must rely on the Bridgewater branch for returns and pickups, complicating access for those without cars.
• No. 2 St. Joseph-Metuchen takes early lead, then rallies for 43-36 win over No. 6 Bridgewater-Raritan (cjsportsradio.com) — Bridgewater-Raritan's football team put up a fierce fight in Metuchen, briefly taking a fourth-quarter lead before falling 43-36 to second-ranked St. Joseph. The Panthers' comeback was fueled by multiple touchdowns from running back Jahmier Black and key defensive interceptions, but a late St. Joe's surge and a final defensive stand ended Bridgewater's rally just short.
