BRIDGEWATER, NJ — A new Indian restaurant has opened and replaced a former Indian restaurant on the Bridgewater and Branchburg border.
Mishree Indian Cuisine opened last month at 793 Route 202 in Bridgewater. The "Indian dining destination" replaced Mauka Indian Cuisine, which previously opened in April 2025.
"Welcome to MISHREE, a new Indian dining destination in New Jersey where timeless flavors meet contemporary elegance," according to instagram.com/mishree_2026. "Every dish, every detail, and every moment has been thoughtfully created to offer more than just a meal. It's an experience, a destination, and a taste of India brought to life."
The restaurant is 100 percent Halal and boasts authentic flavors and an elevated ambience.
Mishree serves authentic North and South Indian cuisine prepared with fresh ingredients and traditional spices.
The menu includes aromatic biryani, rich butter chicken, sizzling tandoori specialties, vegetarian, vegan, and halal-friendly options for dine-in, takeout, online ordering, and full-service Indian catering.

The location is between the Milltown Road intersection and the North Branch River. It formerly was home to a number of businesses, including Mauka Indian Cuisine, Mia Sorella(which closed in August 2024), a COVID-19 testing site during the pandemic, Nik's 202, and IHOP.
