• Tom Kean Jr. proposes mental health task force at Bridgewater visit (mycentraljersey.com) — Bridgewater parents and residents should know that U.S. Rep. Tom Kean Jr. visited town to discuss children's mental health with Mayor Matt Moench, educators, police, and local advocates. The group focused on social media pressures, cyberbullying, and middle school challenges, while Kean promoted a proposed federal Middle School Mental Health Task Force to better support students and families.
• Somerset County library director to retire after contentious year (mycentraljersey.com) — Somerset County's library director Peter Bromberg will retire Dec. 1 after a turbulent year that included the Somerville Library closure and ending recognition of the Friends of the Bridgewater Library. Bridgewater readers can expect acting director Lynn Hoffman to lead the county system while officials plan a search for a permanent replacement and continue talks over library policies and facilities.
• Football: Bridgewater-Raritan Pulls Away to Beat Union, 28-7, in Fourth Quarter (TAPinto.net) — Bridgewater-Raritan football fans can celebrate a big road win, as the Panthers broke a 7-7 tie at Union with three fourth-quarter touchdowns to secure a 28-7 victory Friday night. Running back and linebacker Jahmier Black scored three times, including a 72-yard interception return, while kicker Parker Lyons and receiver Evan Woodring helped seal the statement win before next week's trip to Phillipsburg.
