SOMERVILLE, NJ — The New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission(NJMVC)'s Somerville Agency will close and relocate to a new, expanded facility in nearby Green Brook Township.
The Somerville Agency, at 10 Roosevelt Place, will close permanently on Wednesday, Dec. 16.
According to the NJMVC, customer appointments will continue to be serviced in Somerville through the end of the business day on Dec. 16.
The new Green Brook Agency, at 200 Route 22 West, is scheduled to open Monday, Dec. 21, and begin servicing customers that day.
The location is home to the former Value City Furniture. It can be found next to Carraba's Italian Grill.
The commission said the move will shift services from the current Somerville location to the new site after a brief transition period.
During that transition, from Dec. 17 to 19, customers are encouraged to schedule appointments for vehicle services at the Flemington, Springfield and Rahway agencies, or at other NJMVC locations across the state.
The agency described the Green Brook location as a new, expanded facility.
The NJMVC said more details about appointment availability and the improved amenities at Green Brook will be announced in December.
Customers seeking appointments, online services and general customer information are asked to visit NJMVC.gov.
