Animal Shelter Full Of Sweethearts Looking For Their Valentine In Somerset County

Looking for love? The Somerset Regional Animal Shelter is hosting a Valentine's Day adoption event for its dogs and cats.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — Looking for love this Valentine's Day? The Somerset Regional Animal Shelter is full of sweethearts waiting for their furever Valentine.

So far this year, the shelter has taken in 70 cats from other overcrowded rescue groups and shelters, said Shelter Manager Brian Bradshaw to Patch.

"We have the room, why not help?" said Bradshaw.

Now the shelter is looking to find homes for those cats and dogs.

The Shelter is hosting a Valentine's Adoption event from Friday through Sunday with reduced adoption fees.

The event will also include chocolates, cookies, and other sweet treats.

"Come on in, and if you find your new Valentine, our matchmaker staff will gladly guide you through the adoption process," said the shelter.

Additionally, the shelter is in need of donations to cover vet costs and costs to spay and neuter the pets they are taking in.

"Donations have been nonexistent," said Bradshaw.
