April Showers Bring Rainy Day Activities

Spring is supposedly approaching and so are the rainy days of April.

As I write, I am inside, staying away from the rain that will be making coming to our area over the next month. I always try and remember that April showers are neccessary to bring May flowers, but after months inside I am running out of rainy day activities.

Lucky for us in Bridgewater, there are tons of great options for activities on rainy days.

While April brings rain, it also brings the Easter Bunny to the . Fill up one of your rainy day Sundays, and your kids' Easter basket, and head to the mall. The excitement will be sure to fill up another rainy day.

Many of us find ourselves watching movie after movie, tv show after tv show on rainy days. A great way to gather up the kids and spend quality time together is to head to the , pick up some childrens books—my favorite has always been "Where the Wild Things Are"—and have a day of reading and sharing books.

Have your kids pick our their own books, and you pick out one as well, and take turns reading and sharing the pictures. If the air is still cold, bundle up, make some snacks and enjoy a day without the tv.

Just outside Bridgewater, in Branchburg, is Kid Junction where your young ones can enjoy open play instead of being couped up at home. It is a great way for them to get all of their energy out so they do not drive you crazy while making a delicious rainy day meal.

Speaking of rainy day meals, one of my favorite activities is to cook with my roommates. This is great if you have young kids and older kids.

Baking from scratch and cooking a large meal takes a lot of time and preparation and is the perfect way to get everyone together. Check out some of my favorite .

Whether you are someone who likes to stay inside and enjoy the warmth, or you like to splash around outdoors in April's many puddles, all of us in Bridgewater have many opportunities and things to do as we wait for the clouds to pass and the warmth to shine through.
