Assault On Teacher Leads To Arrest Of Raritan Teen: Police

Raritan Police also reported making 5 arrests for drug possession, driving while intoxicated and an outstanding warrant recently.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — A Raritan teen was charged following an assault on a teacher, borough police report.

On March 2 at 7:30 p.m.: The 14-year-old boy was arrested at his home on an outstanding warrant stemming from possession of a controlled dangerous substance and an assault on a school teacher, Raritan Police report.

The juvenile was transported to the Middlesex County Youth Correctional Facility. Sgt. Everett Holt and Officer Timothy DeBerry investigated.

On March 1 at 11:41 a.m.: Josue Toledo, 35, of Manville, was arrested for possession of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of drug paraphernalia following a motor vehicle stop on Old York Road. Officer Nicholas DePiano investigated.

On March 2 at 2:57 a.m.: Raritan Police Officers were dispatched to Ashton Street for a one motor vehicle accident. On scene, it was determined that Steven Issac, 28, of Rosedale, Maryland, became lost and slid down the snow covered roadway on Ashton Street, striking a curb and disabling his vehicle. While conducting their investigation, officers detected the odor of burnt marijuana in Issac's vehicle. Issac was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance and released. Officer Kathleen Sausa and Office Timothy DeBerry investigated.

On March 5 at 11:40 a.m.: Anthony Benko-Lopez, 19, of Raritan, was arrested for possession of a controlled dangerous substance following a motor vehicle stop on Nevius Street. Officer Joseph Nepomuceno investigated.

On March 6 at 5:43 p.m.: Erin Mahoney, 40, of Camden, was arrested for an outstanding warrant issued by the Raritan Borough Municipal Court stemming from a theft in 2018. Mahoney was released pending a court date. Sgt. James Raniere investigated.

On March 9 at 1:24 a.m.: Lila Pedota, 22, of Bedmister, was arrested for driving while intoxicated following a motor vehicle stop on Route 28. Officer Joseph Nepomuceno investigated.
