Southern Maryland regained the lead in the top of the fifth on a sacrifice fly by Dave Seppelt.
Blue Crabs starter Brian Burres (2-2) picked up the win, allowing two runs-one earned-on five hits in seven innings pitched. Patriots starter Erik Arnesen (2-2) suffered the loss, allowing three runs on six hits in eight innings pitched. Jim Ed Warden earned his fifth save of the season with a scoreless ninth inning.
