House Fire Under Investigation In Bound Brook

Bound Brook Police Officers reportedly saw heavy smoke and flames coming from what appeared to be the kitchen when they got to the home.

BOUND BROOK, NJ — Authorities are investigating a house fire at a Metape Circle home in Bound Brook on Sunday.

On Oct. 13 at around 2:23 p.m., Bound Brook Police went to 269 Metape Circle North where they were initially met with heavy smoke conditions coming from the roof of the home and saw flames coming from what appeared to be the kitchen, said Bound Brook Police Chief Richard S. Colombaroni.

Officers quickly ascertained there was no one inside and turned the scene over to the Bound Brook Fire Department.

A hose line was stretched to the back of the home and another through the front door for a fire attack, according to Bound Brook Fire Department.

The fire drew help from Bound Brook Rescue Squad, Bound Brook EMS, Finderne Fire Department, Martinsville Fire Department, Middlesex Fire Department, Somerset Fire Department, Somerville Fire Department, Warren Fire Department, Elizabeth Ave Fire Department, Millstone Fire Department, East Franklin Fire Department, Bradley Gardens Rescue Rehab, Finderne Rescue Squad and the Somerset County OEM Fire Mutual Aid Coordinators.

Mutual aid helped with both fire suppression and overhaul until about 5 p.m.

"Thanks to a quick response from first responders, the home was able to be saved," said Colombaroni.

Bound Brook Fire Marshall’s office will be conducting the investigation.
