Police ID Man Killed In Bound Brook Shooting Following Fight

The Old Bridge man was reportedly shot following a fight outside the Farm Lane home on Wednesday night near the Bridgewater border.

BOUND BROOK, NJ — An Old Bridge man was identified as the person killed in a shooting on Wednesday night in Bound Brook near the Bridgewater border, Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H. Robertson announced.

Terrence C. Coulanges, 29, of Old Bridge went to the home on Farm Lane on Wednesday night to visit a male resident. The two knew each other, a police investigation found.

While there, Coulanges allegedly showed a semi-automatic handgun and a physical altercation began, Robertson said.

During the fight, the male resident was able to grab the handgun and fired it at Coulanges, Robertson said.

A 911 call reported the shots fired around 7:36 p.m.

When Bound Brook Police arrived, officers found Coulanges outside suffering from gunshot wounds. Coulanges was sent to an area trauma center, where he later died of his injuries, Robertson said.

The incident remains under investigation by the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and Crimes Scene Investigations Unit, along with detectives from the Bound Brook Police Department.

An autopsy is being performed by the New Jersey Regional Medical Examiner’s Office in Newark, New Jersey to determine the official cause and manner of death.
