MD Means Medical Doctor ... And Something Else!

Happy Fathers' Day to all the great dads with MD after their name ... which is ALL of them!

Back in 1989, I cross-stitched this little poem for the father of my children. We had just opened our first medical practice, and I thought it would be a nice thing to hang in our reception area.

Just last week, I was thinking "I wonder whatever happened to that cute little cross-stitch I made all those years ago ... "  I didn't mention it to anyone; it was just a random, fleeting thought. A few days later, my son texted me this picture with the message "Does this look familiar?" He had stumbled upon it in the storage area at his dad's office.

Here are the words, in case you can't read them from the picture:

"When My Daddy signs his name, he always writes MD.
That's so everyone will know that he belongs to me.
Some letters in his name are small, but these are not you see.
He always makes them big like that, 'cause he's so proud of me.
MD means MY DADDY, or something just the same.
And that is why he always puts those letters on his name."
