Brandywine Middlebrook Crossing by Monarch

Prepared 80 Meals for SHIP Samaritan Homeless Interim Program

Bridgewater, NJ — Residents of Brandywine Middlebrook Crossing by Monarch recently came together to support the Samaritan Homeless Interim Program (SHIP) by preparing 80 brown bag meals for individuals facing hardship in the local community.

Each bag included a sandwich, juice, fruit, and a sweet treat such as cake or cookies—assembled with care by residents who were eager to make a meaningful impact. The effort offered more than just nourishment—it delivered dignity and hope.

SHIP, based in Somerville, NJ, provides essential emergency services to the working poor, unhoused individuals, and those facing hunger, mental health challenges, or social isolation. Their mission focuses on compassionate, individualized support.

Residents prepared an assortment of sandwiches—including ham and cheese, bologna, tuna, turkey, American cheese, and peanut butter and jelly—to ensure variety and comfort for recipients.

“This is just one of the many ways our residents give back to the community each year,” said Dorothy De Los Reyes, Life Enrichment Director at Brandywine Middlebrook Crossing. “They were proud to participate in a program that directly touches the lives of people right here in our area.”
