BRHS Team 303 Continuing Community Outreach Throughout The Summer

FIRST, For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology, is the world­-renowned

organization that motivates young people to pursue education and career opportunities in STEM, science, technology, engineering, and math, while building self­confidence, knowledge, and life skills.

FIRST Robotics Competition Team 303: The TEST Team is a robotics team based in the Bridgewater­Raritan High School. The team has existed since 1999, and existed in the high school since 2000. At the 2013 FIRST World Championships, Team 303 respectively won 3rd place.

This year in March, they continued to accomplish difficult goals by being the MidAtlantic Robotics Chairman’s winner. TEST Team 303, has been actively involved in the community this summer. Team 303 continued the tradition of volunteering at the 4H
fair. Not only did they spread awareness about STEM, they got a myriad of children playing with the robot.

This allowed Team 303 to inspire the young engineers and scientists. J&E Metals 303’s new sponsor, came to visit the team at the 4H fair, as well. TEAM 303 continued to help out the community at an Operation Shoebox event at the TD Bank Ballpark on August 9th. Members helped make over 700 packages for service men and women overseas.

Team 303 will be hosting a fundraiser at YESTERcades of Somerville, on
August 17th. YESTERcades’ original all­day price is $25 but on Sunday, it will be $15 from 5 p.m. to ­11 p.m.

At this fundraiser, Team 303 will be collecting canned foods to donate to a local food bank. Please help out by attending this event and donating canned food items. On Sunday August 24th, Team 303 is hosting a Car Wash, at the Bridgewater Raritan High School Field House.

Come help out TEST Team 303 from 11­3 by getting your car washed for only $5 for cars and $8 for trucks. Team 303 is always looking to help out their community in any way possible.
