Bridgewater 2024 Election: Who's Running, Where To Vote

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — The general election is Tuesday, Nov. 5. Here is what Bridgewater voters need to know before they hit the polls.

Who is on the ballot? (* denotes incumbent)

Township Council

There are no local township races this year in Bridgewater.

Bridgewater-Raritan Regional Board of Education

There are five candidates running for the three, three-year full-term seats up for grabs representing Bridgewater:

Somerset County Board of County Commissioners

There are four candidates running for two full-term seats up for grabs representing Somerset County:

• Nick Cuozzo - Republican

• Sara Sooy - Democrat*

New Jersey Legislative District 7 Assembly

• Sue Altman - Democrat
• Andrew Black - Green
• Tom Kean Jr. - Republican*
• Lana Leguia - Libertarian

New Jersey Legislative District 12 Assembly

• Bonnie Watson Coleman - Democrat*
• Vic Kaplan - Libertarian

When To Vote

November 5 – General ELECTION DAY

This is the final day to cast a ballot for the 2024 General Election in person or through mail-in ballot.

In-person polling places will be open from 6 a.m. until 8 p.m. A full list of Somerset County in-person polling locations for voters who have not cast an early vote or requested a mail-in ballot can be found here. Mail-in ballots must be postmarked, placed in a ballot drop box, or delivered to the Board of Elections by 8 p.m. to be counted. Voters must be in line by 8 p.m. at polling places, which will remain open to accommodate these voters until they have completed casting their ballots.

The boxes are all outside and under surveillance 24/7. They resemble a USPS Blue Mailbox, but are Red, White &; Blue and display "Somerset County – Official Ballot Drop Box." Boxes will be available for ballot drop off 24 hours daily from Sept. 20 until 8 p.m. Election Night Nov. 5.

After Election Day

Nov. 12 – Last Day Mail-In Ballots Accepted

Mail-in ballots sent through the United States Post Office that were postmarked by 8 p.m. on Nov. 5 and are received by Nov. 12 will be accepted. Ballots received after this time will not be considered.

Nov. 25 – Final Certification of Votes

Somerset County Clerk Steve Peter must certify the combined results of mail-in ballots, early voting, and in-person election day voting to the New Jersey Secretary of State by this date. Results will be posted here.
