Bridgewater Appoints New Police Chief

Al Nicaretta​ will now serve at the helm as Police Chief for Bridgewater Township.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — Bridgewater Township Council appointed Al Nicaretta to serve as the new Police Chief at Thursday nights reorganization meeting.

Nicaretta is replacing Chief Manuel Caravela who retired on Oct 1. Caravela, who was appointed to Chief in 2013, retired because he got a job offer to work in the private sector.

Nicaretta, who was formerly a Captain, was serving as Acting Chief since October until the official promotion.
