Bridgewater Approves $780K To Repave 7 Roads
Bridgewater officials are also continuing to assess the status of township roadways to prioritize which ones need to be repaved in 2021.
BRIDGEWATER, NJ — Bridgewater awarded about $780,000 in contracts to repave and improve seven roadways in the township.
The council unanimously passed three resolutions awarding the contracts to Top Line Construction at their Monday night meeting.
Mayor Matthew Moench noted that all three bids came in lower than the township had budgeted, which could possibly leave extra funding for more roadway improvements.

The third contract was awarded for $241,717 to repave the entire length of Barrington Road and Sudbury Lane.
Moench is hopeful construction on the roadways will begin before the end of the year or before it gets too cold to complete the work. If unable to complete the projects this year, Moench said those roadways will be the first to be paved in 2021.

The township hired an engineering firm, Pennoni and Associates, in June to use "Roadbotics" technology to analyze the condition of each road in the township.
The analysis is completed and the raw data has been submitted to the town, Moench said.
Now the township must use other factors to determine which roadway to prioritize in 2021 based on a number of factors such as how much traffic a roadway receives, if there is a school on the roadway, etc.
After the data is finalized, the council will discuss the findings and roll out a plan to the public.
"The goal is to be able to get a plan in front of the council for approval before the end of the year," Moench said.
