Bridgewater Commons Sets Free Soccer Event, Giveaways For Saturday

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — Bridgewater Commons will host “Goal Zone @ The Commons,” a free interactive soccer event on Saturday, June 20, from noon to 6 p.m. in Center Court, as the world’s biggest soccer tournament gets underway.

The mall said participating retailers, restaurants and sports partners will offer tasting menus, giveaways and activities throughout the six-hour event.

The featured attraction will be two premium soccer simulators with realistic gameplay, analytics, and HD visuals.

Guests of any skill level can take part in penalty kicks, target practice, and passing mode at no charge.

The challenges are open to all ages, with no purchase necessary, and participants will be automatically entered to win prizes, including a $1,000 shopping spree and other giveaways.

Brazilian steakhouse Fogo de Chão has created a tasting menu for the event with Brazilian empanadas, mac and cheese bites, steak and bacon bites, and caramelized fried bananas.

The Party Shop plans to give away soccer-inspired balloon sculptures, and Iron Peak Sports & Events is offering a six-month Birdie membership prize at the Tee Box Golf House.

Stores including Macy’s, Champs Sports and Lids will feature official tournament apparel and accessories.

Specialty retailers, including the LEGO Store, Pop Mart, Pandora, and Build-A-Bear Workshop, will showcase soccer-inspired collectibles and gifts.

"We’re excited that our retailer and dining partners are joining in the fun and are looking forward to a day of celebrating sports and the rich cultural diversity here in Central New Jersey."

The event will also include a New York Cosmos activation with exclusive giveaways and a player meet-and-greet experience.

The team is returning to the field in New Jersey, competing in USL League One and based at Hinchliffe Stadium in Paterson. A DJ will play international music, interactive photo opportunities will be set up, and 48 flags of participating soccer teams will decorate Center Court.
