Bridgewater Community Day And Touch-A-Truck Set For September 18

More than 2,000 people came to last year's Bridgewater Community Day, presented by the Shimon and Sara Birnbaum Jewish Community Center.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ —

Food will be available to purchase at various food trucks. Activities include inflatables, music, crafts, a game truck, and a variety of trucks and vehicles for children to explore. The "Touch-a-Truck" vehicles will include construction and emergency vehicles, the news release said.

Bridgewater Community Day is presented by the Shimon and Sara Birnbaum Jewish Community Center (JCC) in Bridgewater in partnership with the township and Bridgewater Commons.

The event is at Bridgewater Commons on Sunday, Sept. 18 from 11-2 p.m. It is free and open to the community.

Proceeds benefit JCC special needs programs and services for children and adults.

“The Township looks forward to being a part of Community Day each year, and it is gratifying to see the day enjoyed by so many of our residents," said Mayor Matthew Moench in a news release. "We are pleased to continue to partner with the JCC and Bridgewater Commons and to seeing Bridgewater Community Day grow each year.”

Laura Friedman, executive director of the JCC, said more than 2,000 people came to Community Day in 2021.

"Bridgewater Community Day exemplifies the true meaning of ‘community,' she said. "We are so pleased to be bringing this fun-filled day to the community, which is only possible with the support and cooperation of the JCC’s friends at Bridgewater Township and Bridgewater Commons. In addition, we are so grateful for the sponsorship support the JCC receives from the business community, enabling us to carry out our mission to help those in our local community who rely on this JCC for the crucial and extensive programming we offer.”

Sponsorships and artisan opportunities are available; each is provided a space and is expected to provide their own table, chairs, tent, and Bluetooth. The fee for a nonprofit agency is $50.
