Mission To Keep Suzie's Legacy Alive: Bridgewater Family Launches Foundation
Suzie Hanna, 30, of Bridgewater, known for her giving and big heart, tragically died in the floodwaters during Superstorm Ida in 2021.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — If you knew Suzie Hanna, you would know that she did everything she possibly could to help others — no matter what, said the Hanna family of Bridgewater.
"Suzie would go food or clothes shopping for those who had none. She would do anything she was able to do to help," said Suzie's sister Kellie.

In an effort to keep her memory and legacy alive, Hanna's family launched "Suzie's Mission" a 501c3 nonprofit organization in her honor.
"We needed to do this mission because it was her mission to help people any way she could. And this will keep her mission going and keep her memory alive," said Kellie Hanna.

The foundation held a virtual event earlier this year where they raised $1,000 for the Raritan Food Pantry in Raritan by selling first aid kits.
Now Suzie's Mission is hosting its first in-person event — a family game night on Saturday, June 11 with proceeds going to the Raritan Food Pantry.
"We wanted something different but fun to kick off our first in-person fundraiser. What better way to have a good time than playing your favorite board games with family and friends, meeting new people, and raising money for a great cause," according to the organization.
The event will feature all the classic games such as chess, checkers, Uno, Jenga, and other card games.
"All the ones we used to play together as kids," said Kellie.
Doors open at 5 p.m. on June 11 and the event will run until 8 p.m. at the Finderne First Aid and Rescue Squad, 476 Union Ave., in Bridgewater.
Ticket prices start at $15 for a single ticket, $30 for a family of four. Non-perishable food items will also be collected during the event.
There will be also activities for little kids. Snacks and nonalcoholic beverages will be available.
"We just want people to follow in her footsteps," said Kellie. "Do what they can to be kind and make the world a better place just like Suzie did when she was here."
