Bridgewater Family Returns Home, Recovering From Coronavirus
A fundraiser has been set up for the Whalen family after the husband and father, Tony, died on Wednesday from the new coronavirus.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — The Whalen family of Bridgewater, who lost their father last week from the new coronavirus, has returned home from the hospital and are recovering, according to an update on the GoFundMe page.
"It is truly amazing that so many of you have come to the aid of their family in this unprecedented time... They are amazed and overwhelmed by your continued generosity. Please stay safe and healthy," said Atul Sharma, one of the organizers of the GoFundMe page.
Andrew Wong, a close friend of the family, launched the fundraiser after Bridgewater husband and father of two Tony Whalen died on Wednesday from the COVID-19 virus. His wife and two children were also hospitalized with the same virus and have since returned home.

Wong started the GoFundMe page to help cover medical expenses and now funeral expenses.

"He is the first person to reach out his hand to lift you up when things go wrong. He is the guy cheering you on in your endeavors, rallying the group to help those in need and giving brotherly love at the most needed times. Well, now Tony and his family are in need. It is time for us to give back some of the love and support we have all received over the years," Wong wrote on the GoFundMe page.

There were eight new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Bridgewater Township as of 12:50 p.m. There are a total of 46 confirmed cases in Bridgewater and four confirmed, COVID-19 related deaths to date, according to the township.
There are also 349 total cases in Somerset County.
