Bridgewater To Fill 100-Year Time Capsule To Preserve Legacy, Heritage
The capsule will collect items from the Township to be opened in the year 2126.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — The Township unveiled the Legacy 2126 initiative - a new year-long commemoration of America's 250th birthday, culminating in the sealing of a 100-year time capsule filled with Bridgewater's heritage and legacy.
"I think the cool thing about this is we get to create our own history by sharing our stories," said Mayor Matthew Moench at the March 6 Council meeting.
The time capsule will be filled with items from local organizations and residents in town and then opened in the year 2126.

"What would we want to say if someone is opening this video or letters in 100 years? What would I want them to know about my family or the Township now or my family’s story in Bridgewater? It’s a unique opportunity and we’re really excited about it," said Moench.
The Legacy 2126 is being organized by the newly formed Bridgewater Historical Alliance.
