Bridgewater's undefeated HS Rugby team beat reigning five-time champion Union to win the 2017 Division 1 New Jersey State Championship.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — Bridgewater’s undefeated High School Rugby team beat reigning five-time champion Union to win the 2017 Division 1 New Jersey State Championship by a score of 32-19.

The game was played at Rumson-Fair Haven High School on May 27.

"The team played with skill, guts, determination, and heart. We are extremely proud of their well-deserved win and are thrilled to congratulate them as champions," Bridgewater Township posted.
