Bridgewater To Host Community Narcan Training

Bridgewater Councilman Matthew Moench is sponsoring a free Narcan training for the Bridgewater community on Tuesday at 7 p.m.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — Bridgewater Councilman Matthew Moench is sponsoring a free Narcan training for the Bridgewater community in consultation with Rutgers University, of which he is an alumni, and Robert Wood Johnson Medical School’s Division of Addiction Psychiatry.

The program will be held on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at CenterBridge II, 459 Shasta Dr., Bridgewater. It is free for participants.

"I decided to host the program because the opioid epidemic impacts every community, including ours. Narcan is a life-saving drug and I believe it is important to get it out into our community as widely as possible," Moench told Patch. "By hosting the program, we continue to bring awareness to this issue and make our community safer by training individuals on how to save lives with Narcan. Narcan isn't a silver bullet to the opioid problem, but it is a key tool in the toolbox and I want to make sure that our community has access to it."
