Bridgewater Kindergarten, 1st Grade Registration For 2020-21

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — The Bridgewater-Raritan Regional School District will open registration for the 2020-21 school year for kindergarten and the first grade from Feb. 24 to Feb. 27.

Here is everything you need to know to register your child for the 2020-21 school year:

Kindergarten

• If your child will turn 5 years old on or before Oct. 1, 2020, he/she is eligible to be enrolled into the BRRSD kindergarten program for September 2020. The kindergarten schedule is a half-day program with morning and afternoon sessions. During the summer, you will be notified of your child’s assignment – morning or afternoon.
  • Morning Session: 8:35 to 11:15 a.m.
  • Afternoon Session: 12:15 to 2:55 p.m.

First Grade

• If your child will turn 6 years old on or before Oct. 1 and attended an equivalent kindergarten program outside of the BRRSD, he/she is eligible to be enrolled into 1st grade for September 2020.

To enroll a student in either program parents and/or guardians must fill out the online pre-registration and home language survey by Friday, Feb. 2 before attending one of the registration dates at Harmon V. Wade Administration Building, 836 Newmans Ln., in Bridgewater.

When attending registration dates parents and/or guardians must bring with them: child’s original birth certificate; child’s immunization records; child’s most current physical, two documents showing proof of residency, such as property tax bill, mortgage statement, copy of executed deed, signed settlement statement, copy of executed lease, affidavits of domicile.

Registration dates have been assigned according to last name. In the event of inclement weather, check the brrsd.org website regarding closure, as registration will be closed if schools are closed.

Monday, Feb. 24:

• 9 to 11:30 a.m.: Last Names A through G
• 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.: Last Names H through M

Tuesday, Feb. 25:

• 9 to 11:30 a.m.: Last Names N through S
• 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.: Last Names T through Z

Wednesday, Feb. 26:

• 9 to 11:30 a.m.: Last Names H through M
• 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.: Last Names A through G

Thursday, Feb. 27:

• 9 to 11:30 a.m.: Last Names T through Z
• 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.: Last Names N through S
